Pre-shipment Inspection: Paw Patrol Shower Gel 3-in-1 — Chase, Marshall & Skye 400ml | May 2025 | HOLD & FIXED
Report No. OIS20250517PSI-01. First-round Final Random Inspection (FRI) conducted on 17 May 2025 at a factory in China. Inspector: Lucky.
Subject of inspection: Paw Patrol 3-in-1 shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, 400ml, packaged in three figural bottles under Nickelodeon licence — Chase, Marshall and Skye. Total order: 106,080 pcs (Chase 39,780, Marshall 26,520, Skye 39,780). At the time of inspection, 84,864 pcs — 80% of the order — were finished and packed into PDQ display cartons and outer master cartons (Chase 31,824, Marshall 21,216, Skye 31,824).
Inspection standard: ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 (MIL-STD-105E), plan G-II, normal inspection. Sample: 500 units per criterion. AQL limits: CRI 0 / MAJ 1.5 / MIN 4.0.
Result by criterion: quantity verification — PASS (matched the declared 80% completion). Product and packing check — PENDING (see printing remark below). On-site tests — PENDING (see transportation-test remark below). Workmanship AQL — PASS: CRI found 0 of 0 allowed, MAJ found 2 of 14 allowed, MIN found 20 of 21 allowed.
On-site test results: bottle lid function check — PASS. Barcode scanning test — PASS. 3M tape adhesive test and internal structure check — N/A for this item. Carton dimension and weight check — PASS (measured 33.3×20×44.8cm / 9.11kg). Carton drop test — N/A, the factory declined to run it due to the PDQ display packaging format. Liquid leakage test (2-hour inversion) — PASS. Bottle and liquid volume check — PASS for Chase and Marshall; 2 of 5 Skye samples measured below 400g (387.6g and 387.4g). Bubble effect test — PASS. Scent comparison — PASS.
Open items flagged for correction: during the transportation test, 2 outer cartons were tested and 6 of 32 checked units (18.7%) showed the 3-in-1 character sticker lifting after 2 hours of simulated transport. Separately, of 188 Chase units checked, 32 (17%) showed a visibly poor print on the shrink-film wrap. Both findings are recorded as open items pending correction, which is why the product and packing check and the on-site test criteria are marked Pending rather than Pass.
Defects found in the workmanship sample (500 units): scratching on the bottle surface (10 MIN), air bubbles under the 3-in-1 sticker (2 MIN), colour stains (8 MIN), and underweight liquid fill below 400g (2 MAJ). Total: 0 CRI / 2 MAJ (limit 14) / 20 MIN (limit 21) — numerically within AQL limits, though the minor-defect count sits close to the ceiling.
Overall inspection result: HOLD & FIXED — production was only 80% complete at the time of this first inspection, and the transportation-test sticker adhesion issue and shrink-film printing defect on Chase units were logged as open items. Both were corrected by the factory, and the batch was cleared for shipment once the corrections were confirmed.
